Here, are but a few of the country artists, I've had the pleasure of perfoming with or meeting.
The start of these pictures were taken many moons ago!
David and Barbara Mandrell
With Speck Rhodes and Ronnie Blackwell-(Front man for the Porter Waggoner show)
One of the most friendliest and humble of the country artists, I've ever met-Freddie Hart
David with country artist Dotsy
With Mel Street in Lima, Ohio.
Standing next to two beautiful ladies-Susan Raye and my wife, Marsha
Here I am with Slim Whitman. In England, this man was more popular than Elvis!
The Hagar Twins of Hee Haw fame. I never knew what to expect; working with these guys!
On a very hot race track in Peatone, Illinois. With the Johnny Lee and Suzanne Marie show.
With Dewitt Scott (Scotty). Promoter of the International Steel Guitar Convention. I first met Scotty at a hotel I was staying in, at Fan Fair, in Nashville. The management told us to quiet down our steel playing in the motel room!
Fred Laymen-Promoter of the Northern Kentucky Steel Guitar show.
Here I am with Hal Rugg-former staff steel guitarist of the Grand Ole Opry and several of the award shows.
Steel man, Lynne Owsley and Bass man, Ronnie Dale of the Texas Troubadours-Ernest Tubb's band members.
Pictured here with my mentor-Chubby Howard.
Bill Harp was one of my closest friends. He taught me more about the love and appreciation of the steel guitar, than any one who ever attended an Institute of Music. Bill left an indelible mark on my life; as he did with many other musicians he came in contact with. Bill was also a master at building guitars. I was the minister at his funeral.
By far, the master of the bar! - Billy Robinson. This non-pedal steel guitarist has more turns and riffs on the bar than I, or anybody else has ever seen! Billy has worked with many legendary country artists like, George Morgan, Hank Williams, Red Foley, Patsy Cline, and numerous others.

David with Denver Lamb. Denver has written many great gospel classics, that several artists recorded.
One of my favorite steel guitarists-Johnny Cox. Johnny has worked with too many artists to mention; however, if you have a copy of "The Singing Rambos, Live at Souls' Harbor", that's Johnny doing the fantastic steel work.
Robby Turner-another favorite of mine. I could listen to Robby pick all night! He has some of the prettiest runs, licks, and fills, that I have ever heard. His tone is absolutely one of the best you'll hear anywhere! Of course, last time I knew it, Robby was playing through a Webb amp.
One of the fastest steel pickers in the business today-Herby Wallace. I love Herby's C6th style of playing. Herby is one of my favorite stylists.
Billy Robinson-warming up before his performance. Check out the info on Billy in an earlier photo on this page, also, take a look at his top amp. Special thanks to Walter Stettner for the use of these last four photos!
A steel player's dream!
The late, Mr Jimmie Webb-builder of the Webb Steel Guitar amp.
I use and endorse the Webb Steel Guitar amp.
Roland Buras of Kiln, Mississippi; and his Excel Steel
Mr. Lloyd Green! Other than Pete Drake, Lloyd played on more number one records than any other steel man to date. Lloyd was the session man of the seventies.
